The Arctic sea bed holds billions of barrels of oil and natural
gas -- up to 25% of the world's undiscovered reserves according to the US
Geological Survey. Oil experts are calling the region the next Saudi Arabia.
There is rising access to the trillion dollars in oil and natural gas reserves
beneath the semi-frozen sea. Is it right to profit from this bounty especially
in the context of the environmental catastrophe that is likely to ensue
not just in the Arctic region but also across the entire world as the ice
melts away faster with accelerating human intervention causing greater climate
chaos?
